Japan Mission 2005-2011 →
There’s a video in this post that gives me hope, but also spurs me on. In the video, there are many testimonies of young Christians who have accepted Jesus over the past few years as a result of (I think?) Cru [formerly Campus Crusade for Christ] Singapore.
The reason it spurs me is because all the interviewed Christians are girls. The ratio, judging strictly from this video, is something like 2 to 1 girls to guys, and this is backed up by external sources—that Christianity in Japan is a woman’s religion. This isn’t surprising, since the current iteration of Japanese Protestant Christian culture was mainly exported from the US after the War, and we can all see what our church looks like. Wherever I end up in the next couple years, I can say confidently that by the grace of God, I will look for opportunity to learn from men and to teach younger men.
